Manila Water’s Antipolo mainline extension to benefit additional 24,000 residents
MANILA, Philippines — Manila Water is gearing up for the completion of pipelaying works for the mainline extension project at Sitio Tanza and Tolosa Ville in Rizal province.
The project, which started in early 2024, is projected to expand its 24-hour water supply service benefiting an additional 4,000 households or 24,000 residents in Antipolo City.
The service expansion project involves the installation of a 280-millimeter (mm) high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe spanning 2.73 kilometers (km), as well as a 100-mm HDPE pipe stretching 2.99 km. These will be interconnected to the 1600-mm steel pipe along Marcos Highway in Antipolo.
The mainline extension project will provide residents of Sitio Tanza and Tolosa Ville with continuous access to potable water, marking a 6.5% improvement in service coverage in Barangay San Jose in Antipolo City.
With its completion by December 2024, the project is expected to initially benefit 1,405 new domestic service connections, which will gradually increase as further system improvements are put in place.
