MANILA, Philippines — The National Economic and Development Authority (Neda) Board, led by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., has approved the “Philippines: Health System Resilience Project, Phase 1” program of the Department of Health (DOH).
It was granted during the 21st Neda Board Meeting at the Malacañan Palace on Wednesday, said the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) in a statement.

The program is targeted at enhancing health emergency prevention, preparedness, and response in vulnerable areas in the Philippines.
It will rebuild a resilient health system and support the vision outlined in the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028.
“This is remarkable since it’s specific to the Philippines. It’s not a general … (it is) specific even to the area,” Marcos told Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa in the meeting.
The President also lauded the program as an “application of lessons learned during the pandemic.”
The P27.921 billion project will prioritize areas in the country with poor access to healthcare, the PCO said.
It added that the DOH has already identified 17 provinces for its pilot run.
