MANILA, Philippines – The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will trigger rain showers in southern Mindanao on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Wednesday afternoon.
“The ITCZ is currently affecting southern Mindanao. By tomorrow, we can expect rain in the Zamboanga Peninsula, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi due to the intertropical convergence zone,” Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres in Filipino.
Palawan is also expected to experience rainy conditions on Thursday, according to Torres.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies and possible localized thunderstorms are expected in the rest of Mindanao, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
Fair weather is expected in the Visayas.
Meantime, no low pressure area is being monitored in and around the Philippine area of responsibility, Pagasa added.
