A high school principal in Quezon City was arrested for allegedly committing lascivious acts to four Grade 10 students, said the Department of Education (DepEd) on Friday.

Manila, Philippines — A high school principal in Quezon City was arrested for allegedly committing lascivious acts to four Grade 10 students, said the Department of Education (DepEd) on Friday.

According to the DepEd National Capital Region Schools Division Office, Pugad Lawin High School principal Bonifacio Caculitan Jr. was arrested by the police on Sept. 29 and is still currently detained at the Quezon City Police District Station 15 in Barangay Project 6, Quezon City.

“Complainants are four Grade 10 students who alleged said that they were molested by their School Head,” the DepEd office said in a statement.

Caculitan faces charges under Section 5(b) of Republic Act No. 7610, as amended by RA No. 11648, for acts of lasciviousness.

Meanwhile, the DepEd Schools Division Office said it already assigned an Officer-in-Charge to Pugad Lawin High School and issued a detailed order for Caculitan to the division office.

The Schools Division Office said it has also already requested an official investigation into the administrative aspects of the case.

The office also convened its Child Protection Committee to meet with the school parents and students, offering psychological first aid and coordinating with the City Social Welfare Office to provide counseling. Stefani Tacugue, INQUIRER.net trainee
