2 women caught with P1.5-M ‘shabu’ in Taguig

MANILA, Philippines — Two female “high-value individuals” were arrested by law enforcers around Monday midnight following the seizure of an estimated P1.5 million worth of “shabu” in Taguig City, the National Capital Region Police Office said.

Sandra Manibpal, 35, and Meriam Butukan, 30, were arrested during the police entrapment operation on Jolo Street in Barangay Maharlika carrying 225 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P1.53 million and buy-bust money.

The seized drugs were submitted to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit for analysis.

The two women were detained at the custodial facility of the Taguig City police and would be charged with violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. —Frances Mangosing
