MANILA, Philippines — Two men wanted for charges related to illegal drugs and firearms were arrested in Pandami in Sulu last September 28, according to police.
In a report on Monday, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said that its operatives launched a manhunt operation against the two suspects identified using their aliases “Tulo” and “Abubasar,” who were arrested in Sitio Ratag in Barangay Baligtang.
Police said a gunfight ensued between the suspects and authorities between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. due to the former’s attempt to evade arrest.

The two sustained injuries and were brought to Pandami Rural Health Unit before they were transferred to Siasi District Hospital. They are now under police custody
Confiscated from them were a.45 caliber pistol, a magazine with ammunition, and an M1 Garand rifle.
CIDG said the operation stemmed from an arrest warrant issued by Presiding Judge Shaldilyn Bangsaja of Zamboanga City Regional Trial Court Branch 33.
Based on police records, Tulo was implicated in a major drug bust that led to the seizure of over 21.4 kilograms of crystal meth or shabu valued at P145.5 million last May 2, while Abubasar was arrested in a separate operation on March 2, which resulted in the seizure of two kilograms of shabu valued at P1.9 million. —Stafanie Tacugua, INQUIRER.net intern
