MANILA, Philippines — Some parts of Northern Luzon have been placed under red, orange, and yellow rainfall warnings as typhoon Julian gets stronger, the state weather bureau said Monday.
In its 8 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that a red rainfall warning is up in Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Batanes, Abra, and major parts of Cagayan, including the Babuyan Islands.
According to Pagasa, areas under the red rainfall warning will likely receive over 30 millimeters (mm.) of rainfall in the next three hours.
Meanwhile, an orange warning was raised in Ilocos Sur, certain areas in Cagayan (Allacapan, Gattaran, Lal-lo, Lasam and Rizal), and the rest of Abra.
Flooding remains a concern in the affected areas, with an expected rainfall of 15 to 30 mm. over the next three hours.
A yellow rainfall warning is also in effect in La Union, Benguet, Kalinga, and the rest of Cagayan.
Rainfall amounts under these areas are expected to range from 7.5 mm. to 15 mm. during the same timeframe.

Light to moderate to, at times, heavy rains will affect Nueva Vizcaya, Isabela, Quirino, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Pangasinan and Aurora.
These conditions are expected to persist for two to three hours and may also affect surrounding areas.
