P90 million worth of shabu seized in Sorsogon’s Matnog port

Sorsogon bust: P350,000 illegal drugs seized in April

SORSOGON CITY — Authorities seized P90 million worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) in an operation in Matnog port in Sorsogon province on Saturday, September 28.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region V said in a report Sunday, September 29 that the operation yielded 18 kilograms of shabu that was valued at P90 million.

Two drug traffickers Jehamin Kumpi and Kabilan Arsad Yusop were also arrested during the operation that transpired around 10 p.m. inside the port’s compound.

Both are residents of Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao.

The authorities also confiscated three cellular phones and the identification cards of the suspects.

The suspects are now under the custody of PDEA Bicol and will be facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
