MANILA, Philippines — In celebration of its 127th anniversary, the Department of Justice (DOJ) honored and gave recognition to its employees who have faithfully been in service.
On Thursday, a total of 63 loyalty awardees and two compulsory retirees who rendered decades-long service to the DOJ received certificates, plaques, and tokens of appreciation from the department.
The Office of the Secretary also organized a luncheon for the loyalty awardees and retirees.
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla expressed gratitude for the awardees.
“Your unwavering dedication and efforts serve as the cornerstone of the Department of Justice’s success, which brought us all to where we are today, each one of you is a real modern-day hero who serves as the bedrock of justice,” he said.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI), under the DOJ’s jurisdiction, also joined the celebration.
In a statement, the BI said it has reaffirmed its commitment to upholding justice and national security in the country.

“As part of the DOJ family, the BI stands firm in its resolve to protect our borders from illegal aliens and human traffickers,” BI Officer-in-Charge Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said.
“We are committed to ensuring that those who violate our immigration laws are brought to justice,” he added.
