Cough and colds won’t slow me down – Marcos
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday confirmed that he has cough and colds, which, however, failed to slow him down.
Marcos made the pronouncement during his speech at the Awards Rites for the 2024 Outstanding Government Workers in Malacañang.
The president cut his speech midway to blow his nose, apologizing to the event’s attendees.
“I’m sorry, I have picked up what everybody else seem to have… which is a cough and a cold,” he said.
“But it will not slow me down,” he added.

He later backtracked, however, and then claimed that the president was fine as he was able to perform all his duties for the day.
The Palace, through Press Secretary Cesar Chavez, said the same—stating that Marcos was able to attend his scheduled activities for the whole day.
