Tropical storm Pulasan enters PAR, now called Helen

Tropical storm Pulasan entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and was assigned the local name Helen, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical storm Pulasan entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and was assigned the local name Helen, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Meanwhile, tropical depression Gener remains inside PAR as it moves westward over the West Philippine Sea at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour (kph).

Based on Pagasa’s 5 p.m. bulletin, Gener was last spotted 235 kilometers west northwest of Baguio City, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

Gener was forecast to leave PAR on Tuesday night or early Wednesday.
