Walang Pasok: Class suspensions on Tuesday, September 17
MANILA, Philippines — More local government units (LGUs) have suspended classes on Tuesday, September 17, due to inclement weather triggered by Tropical Depression Gener.
Below is a list of LGUs that have so far suspended in-person classes, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.
- Malabon City: kindergarten to grade 12 in public and private schools
- Navotas City: kindergarten to grade 12, including ALS
- Quezon City: daycare to senior high school in public and private schools
- Manila City: kindergarten to grade 12 in public and private schools
- Marikina City: all levels in public and private schools
- Caloocan City: all levels in public and private schools
- Mandaluyong City: preschool to grade 12, including ALS in public and private schools
- San Juan City: all levels in public and private schools
Meanwhile, the following LGUs have earlier announced suspension of their classes on September 17:
- Infanta, Quezon: preschool to senior high school
- Candelaria, Zambales: preschool to senior high school
- San Marcelino, Zambales: work and classes at all levels
- San Felipe, Zambales: preschool to senior high school
- Botolan, Zambales: preschool to senior high school
- Pangasinan: classes at all levels
- Concepcion, Tarlac: elementary to high school
Tropical Depression Gener was tracked early Tuesday morning near Alicia, Isabela.
It has a maximum sustained wind speed of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, a gustiness of up to 70 kph, and it is moving west at 30 kph.

The state weather bureau, in its 5 a.m. forecast on Tuesday, said Gener may exit the Philippine area of responsibility between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
