Pagasa warns possible flooding in some areas in Palawan

Areas in Palawan were placed under orange and yellow rainfall warnings on Monday night and may experience possible flooding, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

MANILA, Philippines  – Areas in Palawan were placed under orange and yellow rainfall warnings on Monday night and may experience possible flooding, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Areas under the orange rainfall warning will experience 15 millimeters (mm) to 30 mm of downpour for the next three hours, while those under the yellow rainfall warning will experience between 7.5 mm and 15 mm of rain for the same period.

Below is the list of areas under both warnings, according to Pagasa’s 8 p.m. advisory:

According to the state weather service, flooding is possible in low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous areas.

Based on its latest update, Pagasa said that Gener may likely make landfall over the vicinity of Isabela or Aurora by Monday night or Tuesday morning.

Gener is moving closer to Northern Luzon mainland at 15 kilometers per hour (kph). It was last monitored 240 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City in Cagayan, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center, and gusts of up 70 kph.
