LUCENA CITY — At least P843,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) and two illegal firearms were seized from three suspects in separate police operations in two Laguna towns on Friday.

Police said in a report on Saturday, September 14, that law enforcers arrested the three suspected drug traffickers during buy-bust operations in Santa Cruz and Majayjay.

According to the police report, anti-narcotics operatives in Santa Cruz collared “Jeffrey” after he sold a pack of shabu to an undercover police officer in a transaction held in Barangay (village) Oogong around 6 p.m. on September 13.

The suspect was also found carrying an undocumented caliber .357 revolver with six bullets.

The same police team also busted “Erickson” in another sting operation in Barangay Gatid around 9:15 p.m.

Authorities seized from the suspect, three sachets and one knot-tied plastic bag of shabu weighing 50 grams and worth P340,000, and an illegal caliber .45 pistol loaded with five bullets.

Meanwhile, police officers in Majayjay town nabbed “Anthony” around 6:30 p.m. in Barangay Panglan also on September 13.

During the drug sting operation, he was caught in possession of four sachets of meth worth P102,136.

The police report classified Jeffrey and Erickson as high-value individuals or HVI in the illegal drug trade while Anthony is listed a street-level drug pusher.

The three suspects are under police custody and are facing complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The two suspects arrested in Santa Cruz town will also be slapped with another case for illegal possession of firearms.
