MANILA, Philippines — Antonio Trillanes IV will run for mayor of Caloocan City in next year’s midterm elections.
“Today, I formally announce my candidacy for Mayor of Caloocan City in the 2025 elections. Parating na po ang pagbabago (Change is coming)…,” the former senator said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday.

Last July, Trillanes took his oath with the political party, Aksyon Demokratiko.
The Malapitan clan has been in control of Caloocan City since 2013.
Incumbent Mayor Dale “Along” Malapitan succeeded his father, Oscar, in 2022.
