COTABATO CITY — Anti-narcotics agents, backed by other law enforcement units, seized P13.6 million worth of suspected meth and arrested a police officer and three others in Jolo, Sulu during an anti-drug operation on Thursday (Sept 12), an official of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) based here said.

Gil Cesario Castro, director of the PDEA in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), identified the suspects as Police Staff Sgt. Moh Radja Ismula, 49, an active police non-commissioned officer; Andam Alidjam, 65; Midarmi Alidjam, 44, and Rahsi Jallaw, 54, all of Jolo.

Seized from them after the 6 p.m. raid were two huge sachets of suspected meth weighing 2,000 grams, estimated to be valued at P13.6 million, the buy-bust money, two mobile phones, identification cards, bank receipts, and one red Honda XRM motorcycle.

Ismula is the second police officer arrested during an anti-drug entrapment operation in BARMM in the past 10 days.

On Sept 4, PDEA agents arrested a policeman and three others during an anti-drug operation in Barangay Sanga-Sanga, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

Confiscated from them was meth amounting to P68,000, or about 10 grams of the illegal substance.

Since January this year, about P100 million worth of meth have been confiscated in various anti-drug operations across the BARMM region.
