MANILA, Philippines — The powerful Commission on Appointments (CA) approved the nominations and appointments of 28 foreign service officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
Below are the nominees and appointees who received the congressional body’s nod:
Nominations
- Daniel Ramos Espiritu – Chief of Mission, Class I as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ireland
- Mardomel Celo Domingo Melicor – Chief of Mission, Class II as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Qatar
- Mary Anne Alfonso Padua – Chief of Mission, Class II as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste

The CA likewise greenlighted the ad interim appointment of Atty. Jose Mejia as a member representing the private sector of the Judicial and Bar Council, Supreme Court of the Philippines for a term expiring on July 9, 2028.
He replaces Toribio Ilao Jr.
