The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said early Friday that most of Luzon will still experience overcast skies with rain showers while generally fair weather will prevail in Visayas and Mindanao.

Pagasa specialist Benison Estareja explained that a slight improvement in the weather could be attributed to the slight weakening of the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat.
However, he also said that heavy rainfall advisories may still be issued for Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan due to the southwest monsoon and trough or extension of Super Typhoon Yagi (formerly Enteng).
