Pagasa: Luzon will be cloudy, rainy; VisMin will be warm Sept 6
MANILA, Philippines — Most of Luzon will still experience overcast skies with rain showers while generally fair weather will prevail in Visayas and Mindanao this Friday, September 6, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Pagasa specialist Benison Estareja explained that a slight improvement in the weather could be attributed to the slight weakening of the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat.
In a public weather report early Friday, Estareja however said heavy rainfall advisories may still be issued for Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan due to the southwest monsoon and trough or extension of Super Typhoon Yagi (formerly Enteng).

For Visayas and Mindanao, Estareja said warm weather is expected to prevail despite isolated rain showers and thunderstorms this Friday.

“Sa malaking bahagi ng Visayas, mananatiling bahagyang maulap at madalas maaraw, umaga hanggang tanghali at pagsapit ng hapon may ilang areas na magkakaroon ng saglit na pag-ulan or pagkidlat-pagkulog,” Estareja said.
(In most parts of Visayas, it will remain partly cloudy and mostly sunny from morning to noon, and by afternoon, there will be some areas that will experience brief rain or lightning and thunder.)
“Ang malaking bahagi po ng Mindanao ay mananatili pong mainit at maalingsan sa umaga at tanghali, at pagdating sa hapon o gabi ay malaki ang tiyansa ng pulo-pulong pag-ulan,” he added.
(A big portion of Mindanao will remain hot and humid in the morning and noon, and by afternoon, there will be a big chance of scattered rains.)
Pagasa did not raise any gale warnings over any seaboards nationwide for Friday.
