Alleged gun-runner yields 3 guns, shabu in Laguna bust

LUCENA CITY — Police arrested an alleged gun runner in a buy-bust operation on Thursday, Sept. 5, and seized three illegal firearms and shabu (crystal meth) in Biñan City, Laguna.

The Region 4A police reported that “Jessele” was nabbed at 3:50 a.m. in Barangay San Vicente after he offered an undocumented caliber .45 gun with a magazine to the police agent posing as a buyer for P11,000.

After his arrest, the suspect also yielded one caliber .9mm pistol loaded with three bullets, one improvised shotgun, and two 12-gauge bullets.

The police also allegedly found in his possession four plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 21 grams and worth P142,800.

The police are investigating further to identify the source of the guns and shabu.

The confiscated firearms would be subjected to ballistic and cross-matching examinations to determine records of past crime incidents.

The suspect was detained and will face a charge of possession of illegal firearms and drugs.
