MANILA, Philippines — Cesar Chavez has been named as the new secretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), replacing Cheloy Garafil.
A source confirmed his appointment to INQUIRER.net.
He is set to take his oath at 2 p.m. today.
Chavez served as the Presidential Assistant for Strategic Communications before being named as the new head of PCO.
He is the third to be appointed press secretary in President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration.
In October 2022, just a few months into the Marcos administration, Trixie Cruz-Angeles resigned as press secretary, citing health reasons.
