All Caap-run airports operational despite Enteng onslaught

MANILA, Philippines — All airports under the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) are operational and have reported no damage despite the onslaught of Tropical Storm Enteng (international name: Yagi), it said in a statement on Tuesday.

Caap said, however, that aircraft with a maximum certificated takeoff weight of 5,700 kilograms or less would not  be allowed to fly in areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1.

It added that passengers and crew on all flights must undergo security clearance and procedures.

“Passengers are advised to confirm their flight schedules with their respective airlines and arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to their scheduled departure,” Caap added.

Caap handles the Laoag International Airport, Tuguegarao Airport, Puerto Princesa International Airport, and Naga Airport.

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport, on the other hand, is under the Manila International Airport Authority.

Based on the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration’s bulletin as of 5 a.m. on September 3, Enteng may further intensify once it crosses the West Philippine Sea Tuesday morning.
