MANILA, Philippines — Zambales and some areas in Luzon were placed under red, orange, and yellow warnings on Monday evening due to inclement weather caused by Tropical Storm Enteng (international name: Yagi), according to the state weather service.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said areas under the red rainfall warning are expected to experience over 30 millimeters (mm) of rain within the next two hours, with possible “serious” flooding in flood-prone areas.
Meanwhile, those under orange rainfall warning will have between 15 millimeters (mm) and 30 mm of downpour for the next two hours, areas under the yellow rainfall warning will experience between 7.5 mm and 15 mm of rain for the same period.
Below is the list of areas and their warnings as of 8 p.m.:
- Zambales (Red)
- Tarlac (Orange)
- Nueva Ecija (Orange)
- Pampanga (Yellow)
- Bataan (Yellow)
On the other hand, Pagasa said “light to moderate with occasional heavy rains” are affecting Bulacan, Metro Manila, Rizal, Quezon, Cavite, Batangas and Laguna which may persist within the next three hours.
Based on Pagasa’s 8 p.m. update, Enteng maintained its strength as it moved over Isabela province.
The tropical storm slightly increased its speed at 25 kilometers per hour (kph), moving north-northwestward. It was carrying maximum sustained winds of 85 kph and gusts of up to 140 kph.
