MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives quickly adjourned its session on Monday due to bad weather caused by Tropical Storm Enteng.
During the session presided over by Deputy Speaker Duke Frasco, Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega moved that the session be adjourned due to inclement weather.
“Mr. Speaker due to inclement weather, I move that we adjourn session until tomorrow, Tuesday, September 3, at 3:00 p.m.,” Ortega said.
Frasco approved it.
Work at the House was not suspended despite heavy rains and floods, but Secretary General Reginald Velasco assured employees affected by the bad weather that they could be excused for not physically reporting.
Committee hearings, particularly that of the House committee on appropriations, still went on, with the Department of Education presenting its proposed budget for 2025.
