Marcos vows to implement all signed peace pacts during his term
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. promised to implement all peace agreements with rebel groups signed during his administration.
On the occasion of the National Peace Consciousness Month (NPCM) and 28th anniversary of the 1996 Final Peace Agreement with the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), Marcos disclosed that the processes to reach peace pacts with several former revolutionary organizations that are now known as Kapatiran are already in the “advanced stages of implementation.”
These peace agreements involve the Moro Islamic Liberation Front or MILF, Cordillera Bodong Administration-Cordillera People’s Liberation Army, and Rebolusyonaryong Partido ng Manggagawa ng Pilipinas/Revolutionary Proletarian Army/Alex Boncayao Brigade-Tabara Paduano Group, he noted.
“Rest assured that you can depend on this administration to implement all signed peace agreements for the security, [the] inclusive progress, and stability not only in Mindanao but throughout [our] country,” Marcos declared in his speech at the Malacañan Palace on Monday.

He likewise shared that the government is already implementing the “Transformation Program” to uplift the socio-economic conditions of MNLF combatants, their families, and communities.
He encouraged revolutionary groups and government agencies to “discuss the experiences and challenges of the people in Mindanao” and “come up with responsive policies” using open and constructive dialogue.
