Marcos tells former MILF, MNLF: Be vigorous with the needs of countrymen
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday called upon former Moro fighters who have joined the Philippine National Police (PNP) to be vigorous in determining the needs of their countrymen.
Marcos oversaw the graduation of Bangsamoro Police Basic Recruit Course Batch 2023-01 Classes Alpha-Bravo, composed of former fighters from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), who have now become part of the Philippine National Policy.

The President thanked the batch for choosing peace, justice and collaboration.
“Kayo ang tutulong sa pagsusulat ng isang bagong yugto para sa Bangsamoro (You will continue to help write the new chapter of the Bangsamoro),” said Marcos in his speech.

Marcos said that the graduates were accepted because of their desire to serve the Bangsamoro and their courage and determination.
“Patuloy na paglinangin ang inyong kakayahan at kasanayan nang tumaas ang kalidad ng inyong serbisyo (Continue to expand your capabilities and knowledge to increase your quality of service.) ” said Marcos.
As part of the Bangsamoro Organic Law, former Moro fighters will be integrated into the police force. The new graduates will become patrolmen and women.
The first batch of new PNP recruits from the Moro fighters is called the ‘BAKAS-LIPI,’ meaning “Bangsamorong Kapulisan, Sandigan ng Lipunang Pilipino.”
