Work in Senate suspended due to Tropical Storm Enteng

MANILA, Philippines — Work at the Senate has been suspended because of the bad weather caused by Tropical Storm Enteng.

In an advisory issued Monday morning, Senate Secretary Renato Bantug Jr. said Senate President Chiz Escudero ordered the suspension.

“In view of the inclement weather caused by Tropical Storm Enteng, Senate President Francis Escudero has declared the suspension of work at the Senate today, Monday, 2 September 2024,” the advisory reads.

“Session will resume tomorrow, Tuesday, 3 September 2024, at 3:00 p.m,” it adds.

As of 7 a.m., the center of tropical storm Enteng was estimated at 100 kilometers north-northwest of Daet, Camarines Norte, or 115 kilometers east-northeast of Infanta, Quezon.

It has maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and up to 90 kph gustiness.

The state weather bureau said Enteng is forecast to move generally northwestward in the next 24 hours.

Enteng may make landfall over Isabela or Cagayan on Monday afternoon or evening.

“Shall the forecast track shift further to the west, landfall over the northern portion of Aurora is not ruled out,” said the state weather bureau.
