MANILA, Philippines — A number of major roads in Metro Manila saw flooding on Monday due to heavy rains brought by Tropical Storm (TS) Enteng and the southwest monsoon, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Earlier, at 4:45 a.m., MMDA said EDSA Aurora Northbound tunnel was “half gutter” deep in flood, but it subsided by 5:09 a.m.

Edsa Pasay Taft Rotonda also saw gutter deep level floods at 5:38 a.m.

However, the MMDA said no floods were seen on major roads except on Alabang-Zapote Road.

“As of 6:30 a.m., no flooding was monitored on major roads except in Alabang-Zapote Road which is gutter-deep,” the MMDA said in its advisory.

MMDA also suspended its number coding scheme in the National Capital Region.

Luzon is now experiencing the effects of TS Enteng, bringing overcast skies and heavy rainfall in the area, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

As of 3:00 a.m., Pagasa said Enteng was last spotted moving over the coastal waters of Vinzons, Camarines Norte at 10 kilometers per hour (kph) west northwestward, packing maximum sustained winds of 75 kph and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
