MANILA, Philippines — Twelve Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Line 7 stations in Quezon City are scheduled to begin partial operations by late 2025, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced Wednesday.
In a statement, DOTr Undersecretary Jeremy Regino said the North Avenue station up to Quirino station will be ready for commuters in 2025.
“Magkakaroon na po tayo ng partial operations next year po,” Regino said during the DOTr 2025 budget deliberations on Wednesday.

However, Regino mentioned that the Tala station in Caloocan City, along with San Jose station in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, are expected to be serviceable by 2026 and 2027 respectively, provided there are no delays.
“‘Yung San Jose station ang best case scenario po natin is 2027 (Our best case scenario for San Jose station is 2027). We’ll extend [it] to 2028 on a worst case scenario,” Usec. Regino said.

The MRT-7, spanning 22 kilometers, consists of 14 stations:
- Quezon North Avenue Joint Station
- Quezon Memorial Circle
- University Avenue
- Tandang Sora
- Don Antonio
- Batasan
- Manggahan
- Doña Carmen
- Regalado
- Mindanao Avenue
- Quirino
- Sacred Heart
- Tala
- San Jose del Monte
Once fully operational, the MRT-7 is anticipated to reduce travel time from Quezon City to San Jose del Monte, Bulacan to just 35 minutes, with an estimated 300,000 passengers using the system in its first year. – Arianne Denisse Cagsawa, INQUIRER.net intern
