Cordillera police eye income ‘survey’ in drive vs marijuana plantations

MANILA, Philippines — Marijuana plants worth over P1 million were burned in Kalinga province on Monday, the police reported on Tuesday.

According to the Police Regional Office-Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR), authorities discovered the cannabis plants during a marijuana eradication operation in Brgy. Besao, Tinglayan, Kalinga.

The police found a total of 5,250 pieces of grown marijuana plants valued at P1,050,000.

According to the report, the authorities uprooted and burned the plants on site.

Samples of the plants were collected and sent to the Provincial Forensic Unit-Kalinga for analysis.
