Abalos: Davao court didn’t order PNP to stop raid at Quiboloy place
MANILA, Philippines — Contrary to earlier reports, the Davao court did not order the Philippine National Police (PNP) to stop its search inside the compound of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) to look for embattled Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, according to Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr.
“There’s nothing there saying that it’s stopping the operation. Police operations to find Pastor Quiboloy will continue,” Abalos told reporters in Filipino in a phone interview on Tuesday.
SMNI, a network affiliated with KJC, said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the PNP was ordered by the court “to leave premises at once.”
On Saturday, around 2,000 members of the PNP raided the 30-hectare KJC compound.
Quiboloy is believed to be hiding inside the KJC Compound, according to Davao Police Regional Office director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III.
