Rain showers forecast in Metro Manila, other parts of Luzon, Visayas
MANILA, Philippines — Overcast skies and rain showers are expected in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon and the Visayas on Tuesday due to southwest monsoon or “habagat”, according to the state weather bureau.
“Kung makikita po ninyo sa ating satellite image may mga namamataan tayo na makakapal na kaulapan lalo na sa may Southern Luzon at ilang bahagi ng Kabisayaan,” said Rhea Torres, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its 4:00 a.m. update, Pagasa said Metro Manila, Mimaropa, (Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), Cavite, Batangas, and Antique are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
Fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in the rest of the country, Pagasa added.
Torres said rain showers are likely in several parts of the country in the coming days.
“Sa mga susunod na araw inaasahan pa rin natin ang patuloy na epekto ng southwest monsoon, mataas ang posibilidad na maging maulan,” she said.
(In the coming days, we expect the continuous effect of the southwest monsoon, and there is a high possibility of rainy weather.)
Despite this, Pagasa is not monitoring any tropical cyclone in and around the Philippine area of responsibility.
No gale warning is in effect.
