THE SAN MARINO Corned Tuna-University of Southern Philippines Foundation Panthers gained some momentum heading to the semifinal round after they defeated the Lion Tiger Aerosol-University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars, 68-60, during the final day of the quarterfinal round last Sunday night in the 6th Partner’s Cup at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Panthers took advantage of the Jaguars’ inability to find baskets when it mattered the most to close the quarters with a 2-1 (win-loss) record. The Panthers have the same record with their victims for a three-way tie with the Kia Motors-Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats.
