Girl drowns in Taal Lake

MANILA, Philippines—A girl drowned in Taal Lake in Talisay, Batangas, Monday afternoon, police said.
Senior Inspector Manuel Maligaya, Talisay police chief, identified the fatality as Janella Marie Dogelio.
Maligaya said three people – Catherine and Kenneth Sentiles and Jhyriel Andrew Catapang – also went under water in the lake in Poblacion 2 in Talisay around 2 p.m. but survived.
No details were available and it was not known if the victims went into distress due to swimming or boat-ride accident in the lake.
He said the victims were immediately brought to St. Andrew Hospital in Tumaway, Talisay, but Dogelio was declared dead on arrival by attending physician.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident. Jamie Marie Elona
