Camarines Sur suspends classes due to moderate to heavy rains

LEGAZPI CITY — Classes in public senior high and colleges and all elementary and secondary schools in Camarines Sur were suspended Monday due to moderate to heavy rains.

The suspension was in anticipation of worsening weather conditions, which Gov. Vincenzo Renato Luigi Villafuerte said may lead to localized flooding and transportation difficulty.

The suspension of classes for private senior high schools and colleges is at the discretion of school administrators.

Villafuerte said in an announcement on social media that the suspension was a “precautionary measure” to ensure the safety of students and staff, considering that the rain may escalate into more severe weather conditions..INQ
