MANILA, Philippines – Cavite Representative Joseph Emilio Abaya on Monday reiterated that the Malacañang visit he and several members of the House prosecution panel made last week was to verify text messages which said that Chief Justice Renato Corona’s wife, Cristina, booked a flight to Spain.

He told Radyo Inquirer 990AM in an interview that they went to Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. last Thursday, explaining that it was the Executive branch which could prevent the chief magistrate’s wife from leaving the country.

The text message was denied by Cristina who told the media that she intended to attend the Thanksgiving Mass and Octave Novena for her husband.
