Man killed in QC fire

MANILA, Philippines — A man was killed in a fire that gutted several houses in Quezon City before dawn Monday, a city fire official said.

Senior Fire Inspector Fortunato Alde identified the victim as Allan Billiones of 139 Halcan Street, Barangay (village) San Isidro Labrador, Quezon City.

The fire started at 1:38 a.m. and reached fourth alarm before it was extinguished at 2:50 a.m., he said.

Meanwhile, radio reports said that the fire may have started in one of the rooms inside the house of Maria Luisa Retulla.

Information on what may have caused the fire was not immediately available, Alde said.
