MANILA, Philippines — Some local government units suspended classes on Monday, August 5, due to bad weather, as well as the traffic expected because of a transportation protest.
The state weather bureau, in its latest forecast, said the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, will continue to bring rain over parts of Southern Luzon and Visayas on Monday.
Meanwhile, various transport groups are set to conduct a nationwide protest called “AKKAP MO Synchronize Unity Walk.”
They are demanding the repeal of a Senate resolution suspending the implementation of the Public Transport Modernization Program.
