Pasig City unveils, sets distribution of free school supplies
MANILA, Philippines — Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto unveiled on Tuesday the new set of school supplies which will be distributed to kindergarten through senior high school students in the city’s public schools.
In a Facebook post, Sotto said “[school ]supply distribution schedules will be announced per school.”
Aside from school supplies, students will also receive school bags and fitted school and Physical Education uniforms.
“Sinimulan natin ito nung simula ng Hulyo, pero mula sa feedback ng Deped SDO/schools, mas madali daw kung gagawin ito habang Regular Class Schedule para kumpleto ang mga bata pati na rin teacher,” said Sotto.
(We started this at the start of July, but feedback from Deped SDO/schools [Schools Division Office] said it is easier to conduct this during the regular class schedule so the students and teachers are present.)

While classes in public schools for the school year 2024-2025 started on Monday, the Department of Education reported on Sunday that 832 public schools have delayed the opening of classes to conduct cleanup and rehabilitation of affected facilities due to the onslaught of Typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon (habagat).
