MMDA halts operations of Pasig River Ferry due to bad weather

MANILA, Philippines — The operations of all Pasig Ferry stations were suspended on Tuesday due to inclement weather, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

In a Facebook post, MMDA made the announcement advising commuters to stay safe amid heavy rains.

Below is the list of all Pasig Ferry Stations:

Aside from this, classes within Metro Manila were likewise suspended due to heavy rains brought by the effects of Typhoon Carina (international name: Gaemi) and the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat.

Based on the state weather bureau’s latest report, areas within Metro Manila and nearby provinces were under Orange Rainfall Warning (15 millimeters and 30 mm of rain for the next two hours) and may experience floods.

Carina (International name: Gaemi) was last spotted 320 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes, carrying maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness up to 170 kph.
