Typhoon Carina (international name: Gaemi) was last spotted some 380 kilometers east northeast of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported in its 5:00 a.m. bulletin.
The state weather bureau said Carina maintained its strength and may make landfall over the northern portion of Taiwan between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.
Pagasa warned that Cagayan Valley and Aurora may have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Carina.
Meanwhile, the Bicol region, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Quezon, Northern Samar, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, the rest of Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan)band parts of Western Visayas may also experience overcast skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon, or “habagat.”
The rest of the country, on the other hand, may expect slightly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also due to “habagat.”
