MANILA, Philippines — It is not all good news for motorists this week after local oil companies announced mixed movements in the pump prices of petroleum products effective on Tuesday, July 23.
In separate advisories, the companies said the price per liter of gasoline rose by 10 centavos, while those of diesel and kerosene dropped by 40 centavos and 70 centavos, respectively.

Caltex and CleanFuel implemented the price adjustments by 12:01 a.m., followed by Shell, Seaoil, Jetti Petroleum, and Petro Gazz at 6 a.m. The Department of Energy (DOE) Oil Industry Management Bureau said the mixed price adjustments were due to uncertain demand globally and “slow” economic growth in China.
Last week, fuel retailers slashed the prices per liter of gasoline by 60 centavos, diesel by 95 centavos, and kerosene by P1.15. —Meg J. Adonis
