MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) warned the public against individuals posing as a hospital chief asking for donations.
According to the DOH, scammers are impersonating Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center (MMMHMC) Medical Center Chief, Dr. Maria Lourdes K. Otayza, using the mobile number (0977) 622 4963.
“The DOH clarifies that this mobile number is not, in any way, associated with the MMMHMC Medical Center Chief or her staff,” the health agency said in an advisory.

The DOH said the public should not entertain calls or texts from the mobile number (0977) 622 4963. It said that any transactions done through the number are illegal.
It reminded the public that all information concerning the DOH will only be posted on their official platforms and other legitimate sources.
Last July 10, the health department also issued an advisory regarding the requests of Health Promotion Bureau (HPB) Directors Lorra Sayson-Garcia and Rodney Carza for donations through mobile phones. — Felice Nafarrete, intern
