MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) has advised the public not to entertain texts or calls from “malicious individuals” who are posing as health officials to ask for money.

According to the DOH’s advisory on Monday, the posers are personating Health Promotion Bureau Directors Lorra Angelia DC. Sayson-Garcia and Rodney Desmond Daniel M. Carza. The scammers are using the mobile number (0965) 603 0038.

“The DOH clarifies that this mobile number is not, in any way, associated with the HPB or with Directors Sayson-Garcia and Carza,” the agency said.

The DOH also reminded the public that any transaction done through the mobile number is illegal, and to seek information from legitimate sources and official platforms of the agency.
