NBI nabs hackers involved in PH Navy cybersecurity breach

NBI arrested three suspects in cybersecurity breach at the Philippine Navy.

MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested hackers involved in a cybersecurity breach at the Philippine Navy.

Identified as “Newbie” and “Godlike,” the hackers had sensitive information from the Philippine Navy.

The other hacker is an insider at the Philippine Navy, according to NBI Director Jaime Santiago.

However, Santiago refused to give other details about the navy member as the investigation is ongoing.

The hackers are facing a case for violating the Cybersecurity Prevention Act and Data Privacy Act.
