PDEA seizes P3.4-M shabu in Batangas City bust
LUCENA CITY — Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents and other law enforcers on Wednesday arrested an alleged big-time trafficker and seized shabu (crystal meth) worth about P3.4 million in Batangas City.
The PDEA–Region 4A said in a report on Thursday, July 18, that PDEA agents, Philippine Coast Guard-K9 personnel, Philippine Ports Authority security unit, and local cops held Ron Ron Eugenio Reyes, 24, in a buy-bust operation around 1:15 p.m. in Batangas City port in Barangay Sta. Clara.
During the operation, the suspect had alleged possession of 500 grams of shabu worth P3,400,000.
The PDEA was investigating further to determine the source of the illegal drugs.
The suspect, a resident of Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, was classified as a “high-value” target in the government campaign against illegal drugs. He will be charged with violating anti-drug laws.
Article continues after this advertisementOn July 16, the PDEA-Region 4A operatives and policemen also busted two big-time traffickers in Las Piñas City. On July 13, the same PDEA operatives arrested two high-value targets in Pasay City.
The two operations netted P6,800,000 worth of crystal meth.
