MANILA, Philippines— The police said it seized over 9,000 illegal vape products on Tuesday from two establishments in Pasay City, which also violated a provision of Republic Act 11900 on the sale of vape products.
In a report released on Wednesday, the Southern Police District said its Special Operations Unit and the Department of Trade and Industry – Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (DTI-FTEB) conducted simultaneous operations in Barangay 102 in Pasay City.
Both establishments violated Republic Act 11900, Section 9, which disallows the promotion of vape products within 100 meters of areas frequented by minors.
Police said a total of 9,359 vape products worth around P5,147,450 are now in the custody of the DTI-FTEB.
RA 11900, or the Vape Law, was enacted in 2022 to regulate the importation, distribution, and selling of vape products such as e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products. (Moss R. Laygo, INQUIRER.net trainee)
