NDRRMC: Over 200,000 people now affected by southwest monsoon
Bad weather brought by the southwest monsoon has now affected more than 200,000 people nationwide, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported Tuesday.
In a July 16 situational report released at 8 a.m., the agency said 93,743 families, consisting of 221,435 individuals, in 363 barangays have recently experienced heavy rain, floods, and other effects of the southwest monsoon, locally called habagat.
Guo will be safe in Senate custody, says Escudero
Senate President Francis Escudero said suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo will be safe, and may even be allowed to use gadgets, if she ever gets arrested and taken into custody by the Senate.
