Pantino in semis of Toby’s net
CEBUANO netter Arthur Craig “Igi” Diaz Pantino advanced to the semifinals of 2012 Toby’s Summer Tennis Festival held at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center yesterday.
Pantino blanked Gabriel Tiamson, 6-0, 6-0, to advance to the semifinals in the boys 14-under category.
The University of San Carlos South Campus ace is seeded no.2 while Tiamson was seeded no.9.
The Cebuano goes for a finals ticket in the category against no.13 Alanis Vincent in the semifinals.
But Pantino lost in his bid in the boys 16-under, after bowing in the quarterfinals against fellow Cebuano Ralph Juliani, 3-6, 3-6.
Another Cebuano who was also not so lucky in the tournament was Vince Lominoque. He exited both the 10-under unisex and boys 12-under categories. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
