MANILA, Philippines — Less than a month to go before the opening of the new school year, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) reported on Wednesday that the prices of most school supplies have not gone up since last year.

In its latest “Gabay sa Pamimili ng School Supplies (Guide to Buying School Supplies),” the DTI said that it recorded no price movements in 68 percent of stock-keeping units or SKUs—the technical term used by stores to identify and categorize specific inventories by brand, product type and weight.
